How Kundaligram calculates a Vedic chart
Kundaligram is a self-hosted Parashari engine on Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa. Birth place, date, and time are converted with the historical timezone of that place, the chart is computed once, and later answers read that stored chart. Sade Sati, the annual Varshaphal, and Mudda dasha are the deliberate exceptions, because they depend on the current sky or the current year.
Lahiri, everywhere
Ayanamsa is the gap between the seasonal tropical zodiac and the star-based sidereal zodiac. Lahiri is anchored at 23°15' on 21 March 1956, 00:00 UT, then carried forward with precession and nutation so the value is true of the birth date. There is no ayanamsa toggle. Matching, vargas, dashas, and strength scores all use the same longitudes.
What is computed once
At chart creation the engine stores the D1 (Lagna, houses, planets, nakshatras), sixteen divisional charts from Hora through Shashtyamsa, Vimshottari and Yogini timelines, Shadbala, Bhavbala, and the Ashtakoot inputs that come from the Moon. Chat does not rebuild this math to answer a question.
What is recomputed on purpose
Sade Sati needs Saturn’s current sign against the natal Moon. Varshaphal needs the Sun’s sidereal return for the year being asked about, including Muntha. Mudda dasha belongs to that annual chart. Those three are calculated when you view them, from the stored birth chart plus the date.
Matching is a second chart, not a rewrite
Kundli matching runs the eight kootas — Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot, and Nadi — from both Moon positions, plus a Manglik comparison. The score is out of 36. It does not replace either natal chart, and a single koota is not a marriage verdict.
