What Kundaligram stores once — and what it recomputes

A kundli for a given birth instant, place, and Lahiri ayanamsa does not change. Kundaligram computes it once — planets, houses, vargas, Vimshottari, Yogini, Shadbala, Bhavbala — and stores that result with your account. Sade Sati, Varshaphal, and Mudda dasha are recomputed when you view them, because they depend on the current sky or the current year of life. Chat answers read the stored chart. They do not silently rebuild it.

The birth chart is a record
Classical positions are a function of time and place. Once those inputs and the ayanamsa are fixed, the longitudes are fixed. Recomputing them on every question would only add ways for a later software change to make yesterday’s answer and today’s answer disagree about the same birth.
Kundaligram stores the full chart payload at creation. Later answers quote that payload. If you correct the birth time, that is a new chart, not a quiet edit of the old one.
Three calculations are allowed to move
Sade Sati asks where Saturn is today relative to the natal Moon sign, so it must look at the current sky. Varshaphal asks for the solar return of the year you are in. Mudda dasha belongs to that same annual chart.
Those three are computed from the stored natal chart plus the date in question. They are not missing data when they update. A PDF that forgets to pass them in will show them as unavailable rather than invent last year’s Muntha.
Place and timezone are part of the record
The birth timezone is the offset in force at that place on that date, including historical rule changes. Kundaligram resolves it from the coordinates you pick, not from the phone’s current zone. Two cities with the same name in different states stay distinct because the label includes the state.
A wrong district can move the Lagna near a cusp even when the clock time looks right. The stored chart keeps the place you confirmed.
What you can ask because of this
Questions stay comparable. “What is my current antardasha?” uses the stored Vimshottari timeline. “What is emphasised this year?” adds a fresh Varshaphal. You should be able to tell which is which.
The method page and these guides are the public version of that contract. The product does not recompute your kundli in order to sound new.
Frequently asked questions
- If I delete and recreate my chart, is the math rerun?
- Yes. A new birth-details submission computes and stores a new chart. Editing time or place is how you intentionally replace it.
- Does chat send my whole chart to be recalculated?
- No. Answers are grounded in the stored chart. Only the transit- and year-dependent pieces are calculated at read time.
- Why might Sade Sati differ from a screenshot I saved last year?
- Saturn moves. Sade Sati is a transit judgment against your natal Moon sign, so it is supposed to change as Saturn changes signs.
