How Kundaligram calculates Vedic charts

Kundaligram computes kundli math on a self-hosted Vedic engine using Parashari rules and Lahiri ayanamsa. A chart for a given birth moment and place is calculated once, stored, and then used to ground later questions — not recomputed on every ask. Transit-dependent views (such as Sade Sati) update with dated context. Interpretation is plain-language guidance over that math, not opaque marketplace chat.

Parashari + Lahiri by design
House logic, dashas, matching, and strength systems follow classical Parashari practice with Lahiri ayanamsa throughout. Changing ayanamsa would change every chart — it is treated as a settled convention, not a casual toggle.
This matches what most traditional Indian astrologers expect when they say “Vedic kundli.”
Compute once, interpret many times
At chart creation, the engine persists D1, vargas, dashas, Shadbala/Bhavbala, KP cusps, and related structures. Later questions read that stored map.
Exceptions that must move with “now” — notably Sade Sati and certain year charts — are computed with explicit current-date context rather than silently pretending they are natal-fixed.
What we emphasise for trust
Historical timezone resolution from coordinates, bilingual plain explanations, Ashtakoot with koota breakdowns, and strength systems many consumer sites skip.
We deliberately downplay “AI” as a marketing hook. The product promise is chart-grounded guidance you can inspect.
Validation posture
The engine is covered by an internal fixture/evaluation suite used in development. Where classical formulae diverge from some vendor printouts, we prefer documented classical choices over silent mimicry.

- Can I download or review the technical breakdown?
- Yes. After creating a chart, the kundali view and PDF report expose houses, dashas, strength, and related sections for inspection.
