Hora (D2) explained — Sun and Moon halves

Hora (D2) splits every sign into two 15-degree halves. In Kundaligram’s Parashari rule, odd signs place the first half in Leo and the second in Cancer; even signs place the first half in Cancer and the second in Leo. Leo hora is the Sun’s half and Cancer hora is the Moon’s. Classical reading uses D2 for resources and sustenance. It modifies the birth chart’s 2nd and 11th house story. It does not print a bank balance.

Fifteen degrees, two signs only
Unlike Navamsa, Hora does not scatter planets through all twelve signs. Every planet and the Lagna lands in either Cancer or Leo. That starkness is the point: the chart is asking which half of the sign a body occupied, Sun-like or Moon-like.
A planet at 14 degrees of an odd sign is still in the first half (Leo). At 15 degrees it has entered the second half (Cancer). Near that boundary, birth-time error matters.
Sun’s hora and Moon’s hora
Leo is ruled by the Sun, Cancer by the Moon. Traditional commentary treats Sun hora as more effortful, visible acquisition and Moon hora as more fluid, sustaining, or fluctuating resources. Those are glosses. The calculation itself is only the half-sign placement.
Kundaligram does not add a second “wealth hora” scheme on top. If another app’s D2 signs differ, check whether it used this odd/even Parashari swap or a different hora lord sequence.
Use it after the second house, not before
Resources in a Parashari reading start with the 2nd house, its lord, and the 11th, plus Jupiter and Venus as natural significators. Hora is the divisional check on that story.
A strong-looking hora with an afflicted 2nd lord is not a promise of money. A Cancer-heavy hora with a capable 2nd lord is not a promise of loss. Read both.

Hora is part of the divisional set stored with your chart. You do not need a separate calculator. The same Lahiri longitudes feed D2, D9, and Shadbala’s varga strength, so the hora sign and the strength tables are not coming from two zodiacs.
Ask a resource question in your own words. A grounded answer can cite hora without pretending D2 is the whole livelihood.
